Starting Line Athletics is a personal training company based in the Bay View neighborhood in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Starting Line Athletics assists both men and women in achieving their personal fitness and health goals, either in individual or group settings.
We believe in everyday athletes. We believe that when you feel like an athlete, you are an athlete, and feeling like an athlete comes from developing a lifelong love of movement. We’ll help you find your own starting line, and we’ll teach you how to get yourself to your finish line.
Andrea Hoeschen is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a personal trainer. She has completed several triathlons, marathons, and ski races, including the American Birkebeiner and Ironman Wisconsin. Andrea is a certified lifeguard, a member of the National Youth Sports Coaches Association, and a member of the Wisconsin Bar Association. Andrea also sits on the Wisconsin Lawyers Assistance Program Committee. She has a particular interest in helping people use “mind over body” to embrace athletic challenges they didn’t think were possible.
Dean Schmiedel is certified as a personal trainer by the American Council on Exercise and as a lifeguard through the Red Cross. He completed his first triathlon in 1996 and worked his way to becoming an ultramarathoner and an Ironman. Dean also has a Master of Fine Arts in Photography and has taught photography classes at Carroll University since 2010. He looks forward to helping clients find the inner motivation they need to take their fitness to the next level, whatever level that may be. “The space between where you are and where you want to be is your canvas, don’t leave it blank.”
